2016 Candidates

by Mark Mariotti
blog.TheFutureWay.com
(11/12/2015@07:30 Pacific Time)

The US Constitution directed the registration and election process to protect the peoples right to vote without any regard to a political party system… Further a US federal law (Logan Act) that criminalizes negotiation by unauthorized persons with foreign governments to prevent unauthorized negotiations from undermining the government’s position, as well as the Constitution’s protection prohibiting federal officeholders self-dealing by receiving gifts and things of value from a foreign government via the emoluments clause…

The concern is how is a registered voter able to properly evaluate the entire registered pool of candidates, and how would that process be fair and thorough, via an election. Most candidates which seek the office have already consummated a robust career with both positive and negative accomplishments. That business career when relating to the candidate’s foreign sovereign interactions and tremendous amount of global business contacts and income basically eliminates a candidates viability going unforeseen by the registered voter.

The nonpartisans (those registered voters without any affiliation) are situated to use their own research. Whereby the registered voters of political parties will usually follow the recommendation of their party’s leadership.

The formal politics of presenting a candidate to the masses of registered voters begins after the candidate’s registration process. One major change is social media platforms and the ability of the candidate to optimize cost effectiveness and maximize their influence of this essentially open forum of advertising. The old-standard of well oiled candidates presenting their views are via broadcast television. Essentially the candidate must at the very least get in front of the view of each registered voter to being any hope of selection.

Always struck me as very sub-optimal way to elect the leader of the free world notwithstanding the vetting process of their qualifications. As much as the majority expresses dislike for politics, looks like we are just stuck with it.

When registered US voters are tasked with the responsibility to vote and select from a very slim pool of visually recognized information about the presidential candidates, how can they possibly feel a strong conviction towards one candidate or the other? With a very limited selection of candidates visually presented in front of the registered voters, they are extremely influenced by the two current dominant parties (Democratic & Republican). Their primaries & conventions cannot possibly attract an interest from the entire voter pool and the majority of US citizens during a General Election that are eligible to vote. Apparently, many have decided not to vote, for limited candidate selection evaluation and various other reasons with conflicts of the current selection, voting & election process.

When there is a much larger pool and possibly much better candidate selection visible to the average vooter, I can only imagine that would encourage the vast majority (both possible candidates & voters) to desire participation, and an eventual election by popular vote. However, with an influenced and controlled limited viable party affiliation for the potential candidate and limited candidate selection available presented to the voter, the voter does not have a fair chance of having a high level of conviction with their vote. The Only Candidate Outside Of The Two Major Parties Who Could Be On The Ballot In 50 States is Former New Mexico Gov. Gary Johnson, running for the Libertarian Party nomination. Essentially the current dominant two-party system limits and controls the voters selection well before a vote is required. One of these such parties required their candidates to sign a loyalty pledge at the beginning of the campaign process, that they would stay with the party and not splinter off into another party, independent or non-partisan. Now after an extremely tumultuous campaign, that party is attacking their current presumptive leader.

In conclusion; my best guess is that the people of the US will be electing a candidate without the actual majority of popular vote being obtained, all the while the candidate carrying a tremendous amount of global baggage which opens the question of conflict of interest. Therefore sans a majority of the registered voters, the appointment via Electoral College takes place, which seems that it becomes most important to avail the registered voters with the ability to petition for a remorse general election, whereby vacating the Electoral College appointment and allowing the people to re-vote to either ratify or allow for the popular vote.

Further, constantly evaluating the incumbent’s performance and explore other options of evaluation to secure the presidential administration from dysfunction.

These various new options to vacate an elected president could be accomplished by expanding the existing process of evaluation and succession of the president via the  TWENTY–FIFTH AMENDMENT  (The Twenty–fifth Amendment was an effort to resolve some of the continuing issues revolving about the office of the President; that is, what happens upon the death, removal, or resignation of the President and what is the course to follow if for some reason the President becomes disabled to such a degree that the individual cannot fulfill their responsibilities), or impeachment proceedings to maintain optimal performance of the executive office.

…More so than during any other US Presidential Election have my personal interests become so incredibly heightened and senses made extremely aware of the potential for conflict of interest by the candidates running for the offfice of President during the 2016 election

Fact-Based Research

EVERYTHING IS NEGOTIABLE

Freedom of SpeechThe First Amendment – Americans have paid the ultimate price with their life, fighting for their fellow American citizens right to free speech. Free speech is not free. Also free speech not-absolute,  always within certain limits by the individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation –  freedom of expression is recognized as a human right. The ‘Free Press’ is what ensures our freedom. However, along with the honorable journalists (including those which have given their lives) uncovering unjust false-narratives and seeking to fairly report the unbiased facts, there is conversely; false-narratives via editorial bias from capitalized hidden-agenda influence, which can undermine the free press. There are plenty of inherent costs for the reporter and for the reader to actually find truth… based-upon the ‘public advertising model’  you get what you pay for; ‘Fake News’ – ‘Fake Views’ – ‘Fake Likes’ – ‘Fake People’ – ‘Fake Self-Promotion’ and disinformation can manipulate the audience at a very high-cost…

The following links to vetted journalists can provide a tremendous amount of fact-based research to FIGHT DISINFORMATION:

    • “Everything we hear is an opinion, not a fact. Everything we see is a perspective, not the truth.” – Marcus Aurelius  (generally attributed)

Disinformation is one of the biggest threats our democracy faces. Following in the Advertising Business Model (no direct cost to the viewers) there is an increase in the exploitation of this model to bring a disinformation of forced tribalism and polarization to the small percentage of extremist views. Like our reporting on dark money, it is one of those stories behind all the other stories. So we want to build a team dedicated to tracking and exposing the forces behind disinformation as a new reporting priority…

    • Some things to think about:
      • read our ‘case research
      • read our plan (MoJo’s nonprofit, independent journalism) and get involved—and join us with a tax-deductible donation today
      • Is the general public watching as an audience really interested in the facts?
      • Are the facts actually the truth?  Or is truth subjective by the individual?
      • Does the average person have the bandwidth capacity and tools to clearly comprehend? – or merely satisfied with being entertained?
      • Is it possible any longer, with the ability to hide in plain sight, troll and manufacture facts with unvetted stories by unvetted entities and bots, to actually and correctly understand the facts of any specific matter?
      • How does one REALLY substantiate TRUTH or FACTS from fiction?

For over 5-decades   TheFutureWay ‘Fact-Based’ Research Team  have continued to research from the best available facts, and provide an option with a ‘Fact-Based’ approach.

“Those who are able to see beyond the shadows and lies of their culture will never be understood, let alone believed, by the masses” – Plato  (generally attributed)
